The top two seeds in the NCAA tournament will square-off in the championship on Sunday as top-seeded Cal looks to win its third straight title against No. 2 UCLA.

On Sunday afternoon, top-seeded UCLA and second-seeded Cal will meet in the NCAA Tournament Championship with the hopes of claiming the national title at Uytengsu Aquatics Center in Los Angeles. The Golden Bears come into Sunday's game with an overall record of 23-5 and a conference record of 3-3. The team is now on a two-game win streak after beating No. 12 Fordham 16-6 and third-seeded USC 10-9 in tournament play. Against the Trojans, Jake Howerton led all players with four goals and Max Casabella notched his team-leading 14th hat trick of the year to put the Bears one game away from three-peating as national champions.

The Bruins have had a strong season with only two losses to bring an overall record of 26-2 and a conference record of 7-0 into the national championship game. The team is now on a two-game win streak with the most recent being against No. 5 Princeton in the semifinals. The game resulted in a 17-13 win for the Bruins to advance to the title game for the first time since winning it all in 2021. The Bruins had nine players score in the contest, with redshirt senior Jack Larsen leading the way with four goals. Freshman Wade Sherlock and redshirt senior Giorgio Alessandria also contributed hat tricks in the win.
